The Oyster Quartz The watch case fitted with the "Twinlock" screw down crown. The watch case is waterproof to a depth of 100 metres. In the magnetic fields to which we are exposed today the oyster quartz is resistant to an intensity of 80,000 a/m.
The Movement - Rolex engineers create the oyster movement with the aid of high-end computers. Quality control procedures are carried out at every stage, there working impressive array of robots, microscopes and lasers.
Each of the 220 components are individually crafted and assembled.
The Red Seal
The red seal and the inscription "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" on the watch face show that your oyster has successfully passed these rigirous examinations and authneticate it's exceptional reliability.
Rolex oyster chronometer is tested by the Contrôl Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (C.O.S.C.). For 15 days and nights each movement undergoes stringent tests in five different positions under rapidly changing temperature conditions.
Calender
The oyster collection includes several Day-Date models. Also there shown the day of the week spelt out in full in 26 different languages.
